Thank You

It has been quite a ride!

Thank you for placing your faith in me. I am sorry the result did not go our way, but I am happy and proud of our performance and the professionalism of our campaign and our team.

We ran an honest, energetic, and spirited campaign, a campaign that was supported by great people like you and run by a dedicated group of Conservatives who will continue to influence and grow the Conservative movement in Winnipeg South Centre.

I have been honoured to represent Conservative values and to have carried the Conservative flag in our community.

From my heart – thank you!

About Joyce

Focused on Community Service

  • I entered politics not because it was easy, but because it matters.
  • I was the Member of Parliament for Winnipeg South Centre for over four years, serving on the Finance, Public Accounts, Industry, Official Languages, and Status of Women Committees.
  • I was a School Trustee for over 10 years, serving as Chair of the Board, Vice-Chair and Chair of the Finance/Audit Committee.

Significant Professional Experience

  • I’m a financial professional. I hold the CPA, CA designation with experience in both the public and private sectors and the ICD.D designation with experience in board governance.

  • As an elected official, I demonstrated a common-sense approach to finances.

  • I treat taxpayers’ money as carefully as my own.
  • I’m a longtime advocate for women’s rights.

Results Achieved

  • As the MP for Winnipeg South Centre, I brought funding for many local infrastructure projects to our community, like the Waverley Underpass and the twinning of Taylor.

  • My Private Members’ Bill on Rail Safety was unanimously approved by the House of Commons and the Senate which demonstrated my ability to work across political lines to achieve results. With this bill, I made every rail crossing across Canada safer.

  • My Private Members’ Bill showed that by listening to concerns raised by my Constituents, I was able to make a positive difference all across Canada.
